The Factory Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing site, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, high production efficiency, and strict adherence to quality and safety standards. Reporting to senior management, the Factory Manager will play a key role in driving performance improvements and fostering a positive, results-oriented team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead, manage, and motivate the factory team to meet production goals and KPIs, promoting a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Operational Excellence: Manage and coordinate all production activities, ensuring optimal performance in line with company standards, while focusing on continuous improvement and waste reduction.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations (including HACCP and BRC) as well as health & safety policies, maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
- Budget Management: Control operational budgets, including labour, materials, and maintenance costs, ensuring cost-effective production.
- Process Improvement: Implement and champion continuous improvement initiatives, using lean manufacturing techniques to enhance production efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Staff Development: Develop the skills and capabilities of team members through coaching and training, helping to build a high-performance workforce.
Candidate Requirements:
- Extensive experience in a senior management role within a food manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety and quality standards, such as HACCP and BRC.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop teams.
- Strong operational and financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and driving cost efficiencies.
- Demonstrable experience in process optimisation and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on, proactive approach to management.
