We are retained by a major European food manufacturer looking to appoint a Senior Sales Manager – Germany to accelerate its growth across the German grocery and discount retail market.

This is a genuinely commercial growth role for somebody who knows the German food landscape, understands how to operate with Aldi, Lidl and other major retailers, and wants the autonomy to build rather than simply maintain existing accounts.

The opportunity

You will take responsibility for developing the German market, building senior retailer relationships and identifying new customer, category and private-label opportunities.

• Developing and executing the German commercial growth strategy
• Building senior relationships across Aldi, Lidl and other major German retailers
• Winning new business and expanding existing strategic accounts
• Leading pricing negotiations, tenders and commercial agreements
• Identifying new listings, distribution and category opportunities
• Developing Private Label / Eigenmarke / Handelsmarke programmes
• Managing revenue, volume, margin and account profitability
• Working closely with NPD, Operations, Supply Chain and Quality
• Providing competitor, category and German market insight

Your background

We are particularly interested in people currently operating as: Senior Sales Manager | Senior Key Account Manager | National Key Account Manager | Head of Key Accounts | Country Sales Manager

• Strong German Food / FMCG experience
• Extensive knowledge of German Grocery, Discount and LEH
• Relationships with Aldi, Aldi Süd, Aldi Nord, Lidl or other major German retailers
• Strong Private Label experience
• Proven new business and strategic account development
• Experience with tenders, pricing, contracts and annual negotiations
• A demonstrable record of delivering profitable growth
• Fluent German and strong professional English

Experience within Frozen Food / Tiefkühlkost would be particularly attractive, including ice cream, pizza, ready meals, vegetables, bakery and desserts.
